Why I built Cluboom
Every week I found myself switching between WhatsApp groups, spreadsheets, paper registers and separate apps just to organise one training session or one match.
The more I coached, the more obvious it became that grassroots clubs deserved something better.
Instead of asking why the software didn't exist, I decided to build it.
Cluboom wasn't created in a boardroom. It was built around the real challenges volunteers face every single week.
Meet the coach behind Cluboom
Cluboom was created by a grassroots rugby coach working directly with a real club, and is being developed for grassroots sport more broadly. Every feature has been shaped by real coaching experience — Tuesday training, Saturday fixtures, parent messages, availability chases, tour payments, player development conversations — rather than assumptions about how a club should work.
Rugby is where Cluboom started. The admin behind it — squads, sessions, availability, subs, trips and communication — is the same in almost every grassroots sport, and that's the direction the platform is being built in.
It's a small, focused project — built with grassroots clubs, not just for them.
